I RUN TO OVERCOME

Contributed by Adelle on Saturday, 11th March 2006 @ 11:39:10 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

i lost my way
weakened and broken down i beacame
i had no food or water to partake
i became sick tired and weak
out in the desert
alone i found myself there
i wanted my strength back
but wouldnt do what to do, i had
learning i must get angry
and tired of being weak
and i must demand energy
must allow it to be given to me
i must start my run out early
beat the sun and beat the heat
find the grass hidden deep with in the cactus
eat the road runner if i must, that passes
catch the uncatchcable
eat the un eatable
do what i must do to gain controll
of the run that once weakened my soul
my motive has changed
once running from my fear of faith
i now run to overcome that fear with faith
must get back on that path
that for me my father hath
get strong and if i must get angry
push through what makes me weak
do not give in to the lack of energy
do not give in to the barren dessert all around me
do not give in to fear or defeat
must put forth stamina faith and integrity
push, fight and wait
the food will come to bring me strength
i must take it and partake
and run...
for i am strong

Good write. Sometimes its hard to keep running on faith when its easier to just give up. Glad that you were able to overcome that.
