"This time I'm ready."
I sit on the floor,
with my legs and pride folded
then tucked neatly below the rest of my body.
Carefully, I unzip my bag
and pull out a small white flag.
The battles over, and you have won.
After making the resignation official,
I proceed to remove each of my
most important arteries
from the pack that rests against my knees.
Blood soaken,
I lay each one on the floor between us.
And now, everything I've ever owned belongs to you.
My life if is your hands.
