The Man Unfolding

Contributed by Sherry_Gail_Heim on Friday, 26th July 2002 @ 04:05:13 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

The Man Unfolding

You sit down beside me
Tell me of your life
The tales of your children
And your beautiful wife

Of the days of your youth
When your babies were small
Of the years then that followed
As your children grew tall

You tell me the good times
As your life did unfold
Including the first time
A grandchild youd hold

Of the years that you toiled
The day your sole daughter wed
Of the lives you touched dearly
And the souls that you fed

We all have our sagas
Of the life we have led
Yours, a story quite moving
As your tales fill my head

To me youre a blessing
An angel sent from above
Youve given me insight
To a fathers true love

Sherry Gail Heim

My grandfather is really special to me... he's the one that's always sitting me down and telling me those stories. This is a great write. And very sweet and heartfelt too.
