I'm glad I know you
or pretend I do
I'm not sure about the alter ego though
one day we'll do lunch and talk about the weather
and all the while I'll have these questions I'll never ask
but frantically hope I get the perfect chance
But I'm glad I know you
and will continue to pretend to
while everyone is riding bikes or getting into fights
I'll be in my room
writing
to you my muse
It's a sad sickly obsession
and I know it
yet I still cling to it like a security blanket
one day I know I will have to let you go
because I must grow
and every creeping hour that brings me closer to that moment
has me clinging that much harder
I wonder if we could grow together.
How incredibly stupid is that?
