A purple haze surrounds me; My life is come undone. Oh, tell me what it is That makes this all so fun. Playful banter fills the car, As long-lived buddies joke, And then I start to laugh so hard My tears begin to choke. Purple haze and blue-eyed tears, So contrasting, so serene; One's a thousand lives to live, The other's all that's seen. For in the haze, one finds life, And in it is life's end, Because you can't start running Before coming 'round the bend.
