Oh, the oaths you proclaimed With your hand on the Bible For your love hath no shame My undying disciple
My cupped beggar's hands Filled up to the edge Must have spilled over Your lover's sworn pledge
For the altar of vice You gave unto thee In simple sacrifice To love my enemy

This is a uniquely stunning and profound muse.
As William Blake once said: "Thy friendship oft has made my heart to ache: do be my enemy for friendship's sake."
Masterfully intriguing!
