Day breaks.
The long awaited dawn.
A new sun adorns the winter sky .
And I awake.
Sitting up, I curse my mind
For taking me to that amazing place
That is my dream of you.
And then,
Allowing me to wake.
Cruel orb.
Pushing your fiery light
Through every crevice.
To remind me
That the dream and the reality
Cannot co-exist.
Then,
Epiphany.
Oh my God.
Am I still in that dream ?
I breathe in the air
As if to test its very existence
And I taste
The perfume that is your essence
The soft sweet smell of your skin
Your flowing hair
The gentle touch of your lips
As they meet mine in an endless imaginary kiss
And the dream
Is real.
I am awakened
To a new day.
Long ago
I lay down to sleep
So much since then has passed.
But now I am awakened
To an endless warm sun
Ripe with possibility
I cannot articulate
How I feel in any other way
Than to say
WOW.

As I read this, I really started to feel kinda offish as I started imagining what could have happened if I did take her home.
This is a great poem and an even greater story told.
