The Gallows of Heartache

Contributed by manifesto on Sunday, 19th March 2006 @ 05:28:56 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

So we wait.
The tears are like rivers and i aam drowning.
But we wait.
The future holds secrets that could never be imagined in the past.
I love you.
You never took the time to let me show it.
But i forgot.
You let me believe it.
And you're gone.
Without you I am nothing because you were my everything.
I gave you the world.
And like god you destroyed it.
So crimsom become the color of choice.
Black and hallow.
I would do anything for you to understand.
Anything.
Now i have no choice.
I drown myself in booze.
With only one thought left "you lose"
Take my hand i am begging you.
But the voice is faint and only fading.
Like the gallows of heartache that loom overhead.
I feel the warning of the dead.
But is ignored.
The feelings overwhelm me, a war within.
I want you, i always have.
But you just wouldnt let me in.
So now i am the one to blame.
And for this i will live in shame.
I lost the best thing in my life.
For what? just one night.
I wont forgive myself and i hope you wont too.
Because all of this is i do for you.

Magnificant. I like the deep, raw, intnense meanings going on here. Thanks for posting the poem.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
