MUM I UNDERSTAND NOW

Contributed by jonquilcottage on Wednesday, 22nd March 2006 @ 10:27:58 PM in AEST
Topic: MothersDayPoems

I am you little girl
And you are my mother,
You love me like a pearl
And of you there is no other.

Im lousy at the written letter,
And I know youd like it more,
If I remembered dates a bit better,
And now we get to the core.

For you see I remember them in fleeting,
A week or so before,
But with kids and meals and housekeeping,
Time flies right out the door.

Now this doesnt mean I love you less,
Because now that Im a mother,
And I know to be remembered is best,
By your children and no other.
