Memory's Scar

Left with alibis and broken lies, I shuffle dejectedly back to home. A trail of a thousand broken lines; A chattering mouth, left to roam. Leaving sunny times and high-fives, And smiles from a lyricist's line, I say forgetting the past isn't better, And taking the future, I make it mine. Clouds of red, orange, and purple, On that fine summer day, Will never be seen that magnificent, Or never again, such a display. And in the ride home with memories left, The smell of the beach still fills the car. I now look back on these things and smile, And marvel forever at memory's scar.

perfectly flowing and delightful. Yes memories can scar but the ones that are the happy scars are the ones to hold onto and cherish.

This is very well written with good rythm and meter. It reminds me how powerful our memories are. I like the line about the "smell of the beach" in the car. The good thing about having scars is, if we have them, the wound is healed. Great job!
