MONSTERS PROWLING

Contributed by jonquilcottage on Friday, 24th March 2006 @ 07:31:46 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

FIVE WEEKS HAVE PAST IN SUCH A STATE
STARTED OFF SO PEACEFUL
ONE AFTERNOON RATHER LATE
THE JOURNEY WAS RATHER TEARFUL

THE FIRST FEW WEEKS WENT SLOWLY BY
THE MONSTERS WERE ASLEEP
SAFE WAS I FROM THEIR PROWLING EYES
I NEVER HEARD A PEEP

CREEPING CREEPING AROUND I WENT
AT TWO AND THREE AND AND FOUR
HOPING THE MONSTERS WERE CONTENT
AS I SNEAKED RIGHT OUT THE DOOR

THEN ONE DAY THEY FOUND ME
I WAS TAKEN BY SURPRISE
BOLDLY THEY ATTACKED WITH GLEE
WITH THE DARKEST LITTLE EYES

WHAT MONSTERS HAVE I GOT HERE
MAKING ME LIVE IN FRIGHT
FIVE OF THE CUTEST PUPPIES DEAR
KEEP ME UP FOR HALF THE NIGHT

Oh that was cute...I was thinking what a neat little childrens book that poem would make. Loved it. Peace, Laura

I remember when I was 4 (i've got a long memory!) my brother took me to view some puppies, and I remember getting upset because I wanted to take them all home.

Cute write.
