The Watchers

Contributed by Man_On_High on Saturday, 25th March 2006 @ 01:30:11 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

What shall her silence keep
under the sun-
here, where the willows weep
and waters run;
here, where she lies asleep
and all is done.

Lights, when the tree-tops swing-
scents that are blown,
the sound of the raven's wing
and the honeybee's drone;
these be, but comforting
about the stone.

What shall watch o're her here,
when day has fled-
here, when the night is near
and the skies are red;
here, where she lie dear
but young and dead.

Shadows and winds that spill
dew, and the tune
of my heart so chill
and the moon so white;
these be the watchers still,
evermore, through day and night.

Death and the aftermath is always tumultuous but your poem has given beauty to that which is so difficult. The emotions evoked by your words are incredible.

Oh, dearest Billy. This was beautiful. How you capture
feelings at the very height of emotion, my friend.

To simply call this exquisite seems [somehow] hollow.
There is so much in here. So much more than what
is written. So much of . . . well, you.

A thoughtful, sweet and most emotive write. And exactly
what I have come to expect . . .

~Breezy
(p.s. I almost feel a warmth emanating from this . . . well done Bill)

WoW, this is an extraordinary and brilliantly penned masterpiece ~*Billy*~ Your work doesn't get enough recognition. You are definately on top of my fav. list of writers. A true poetic master who has an extraordinary gift of writing such remarkable poetic verses.
Death is viewed sometimes as an awful bad thing, but you have somehow twisted it and shown it in a different way. You always know how to captivate and lure in ur reader. Hats off to you sweet guy.
*love n hugs*
