I closed my eyes last night
And saw you for the first time
I saw past the details of your face
Your amazing, gorgeous face
And straight into your soul
Your amazing, gorgeous soul
You smiled at me for the first time
And for the first time I could see your dreams
You laughed with me for the first time
And for the first time I could see your love
I opened my eyes this morning
And you dissapeared for the first time
I lost sight of the details of your face
Your amazing, gorgeous face
And I lost sight of your soul
Your amazing, gorgeous soul
I couldn't see if you smiled or cried
I couldn't see if you dreamed or died
I couldn't see if you laughed or choked
I couldn't see if you loved or broke
I closed my eyes last night
And saw you for the first time
But then when I opened my eyes this morning
You were gone
Gone, gone, gone
I opened my eyes
And you were gone
