I Give Up

Contributed by desolantdreamer on Monday, 3rd April 2006 @ 05:04:38 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I'm sick of falling for someone
And crying and bleeding and hurting because of it
I'm sick of one sided feelings
And sick of sadness and heartache
So now my heart will be shoved away
Locked in a box and thrown into the pit of nothingness
I've had enough of the pain
I've had enough of the tears
I've had enough of love
I will protect my heart
I will hide it away and be numb
Give me novacaine to make the pain in my heart go away
I'm giving up on love
I'm tired of all the lies I tell myself
"Maybe I have a shot with him"
Or "If I am nice and look nice he will notice me"
I'm done with the pain and suffering
I just quit, I quit feeling
I will cut my heart out
Lock it away in a cheast
And throw it to a place even I cannot get it
I'm giving up on every hope of love
I'm giving up on believing that I have a chance at happiness
"My heart is my own to give"
That saying rings in my head
If that is true, then I give it to the emptyness
Great numb darkness, take my heart
Take it and hold it out of reach of any mortal human
Please, I just want it to be over
I just want to stop hurting
I just want to stop loving him
Always

I will speak the truth to you, dear one...

your heart is your own to give. and nothing in this world is worth your heart, it is too precious. but I tell you the truth, there is someone who will treasure your heart forever... who will treat you the way you deserve to be treated... the way that still, deep deep down inside, you know is the right way to be treated... tenderly always, without fading or changing or growing weary. who will treat you as his own being, for that is what you will be, if you choose to give your heart to him. and he is worthy... for he is the man of true love. every other love pales in comparison. and because he made you, he longs for you and will cherish you... his precious one, for he has given you free will, you are made in his very image, to be his own child, broken though you may now be. there is a balm to heal your wounds. there is love to cover you. it comes through Jesus. you were made for him...... please accept his gift of grace. I appeal on his behalf... be reconsiled to him. seek him and you will find him. choose him and he will honor you eternally. only he can meet your every need, and fill every desire.

may this give you hope.

I can tell this is from the heart, as I can feel your pain , not unlike my own. I have resigned my heart to the same fate. I too shall never let another touch it. Great write. You have bared your soul.
