You speak to me of GOD..... I don't even recognize the name... and I'm not ashamed that my beliefs from yours must vary........... and I carry into my soul all I've ever known and all that was ever shown to me of................. Your GOD!!!!!!!

i didnt feel any anger in this (which i think you need to work on), since ive gone through the same thing and believed so many different things religious wise because i hated god so much. also i dont even like my mother in the least bit. if you cannot get someone thats gone through similar experiences to feel that anger again, than what have you created under "anger" poetry? i think you can expand on this for more emotional depths, personality depths, and conceptual depths as well. what has been shown to you that makes him so terrible? why are you not ashamed? what makes you right and her wrong? what is all youve ever known? im sure lots of people dont think youre so great, but they dont see enough of you to make such a judgement. speaking from my experience, there is no point in believing something just because of partial information or just because of anger. since this piece had a weak conveyance of anger, i do question how much anger you have...or if your reasons simply arent good enough for anger. what a world... a parent tries to guide their kids down the paths they think are right for them, which shows caring. reciprocating that would be a bit more tactful expression of your autonomy, expressing that you dont think its necessarily right for you but there is appreciation for it...else a cycle of anger at everyone that cares might occur, and not many people like staying in relationships with someone that only gets angry with them for caring. |

i can feel the anger in this poem, i personally know what its like to have someone else's beliefs forced down your throat. growing up a preacher's daughter, i know what its like to have your own opinions of God and for someone to tell you that you are wrong and not living right for that. you become resentful, but still respectful of that person and only wish that they would respect you as well regardless of your beliefs, because they are supposed to love you. i love this poem, i totally relate. |
