Birth of the Dark Princess

Topic: SadPoetry

Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still love?
Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still think of?

I am not as happy as I was when I was with you,
I always feel so blue.
Yet everyone believes I am so happy,
So why do I feel so unhappy?

Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still love?
Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still think of?

Was I really that hard to be with?
Did I make it that hard to live?
You left me feeling so alone,
Yet, you said everything with such a sad tone.

Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still love?
Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still think of?

Even with a new guy,
My emotions feel like a lie.
I like him,
But the flame does burn dim.

Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still love?
Why is it you?
Why is it you, that I still think of?

Your flame still burns so bright,
I remember when you used to hold me tight.
Now I have a new name,
Dark Princess, am I still the same?

Am I?
Am I, the one you still love?
Am I?
Am I, the one you still think of?

Your poem is the testimony for the true power of love. One may be- friendly with many but the flame of love burn bright for the one who dwells in the heart. How true.
I can sincerely relate your state of mind with mine. GOOD WORK keep the flame burning - shall keep you warm for all day to come.
FRANCO.

Wow that was kind of how I felt before. I asked some guy out and he told me no because he wasn't sure of me. I know it's not the same thing but they are similar situations so I can feel the pain.

I love the title. All I will say about that. My favorite part of the poem was the use of the title and the metaphor of the flame and light in conjunction. The title says dark, then you talk about these opposing flames that light your life, one bright that you are drawn to, the other more dim, but still it is a flame, a light. Really neat stuff . An insightful and delicious use of metaphor. My favorite part. And obviously I like the questions. I like the repetition of them a lot. Tell you the truth, I think you should find someone that can make up some music for it, would make a great song. Really.
My favorite line, actually two lines, was,, "Was I really that hard to be with? Did I make it that hard to live?"

"A failing love is like desperately hanging on to something precious; not wanting to give up, but your hands feel the pain. And, when you finally let go, you're free from any pain, but your hands are empty."

love always,

the dark prince
