MAMA PLEASE DONT CRY

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Mama please dont cry

Shes sitting in her rocking chair her hair has now turned grey
She looks off in the distance and seems so far away
Mama can you hear me mama please dont cry
I didnt mean to leave you I didnt want to die
They said the drugs wouldnt hurt me only make me high
I should have said no thank you I do not want to try
Shadows from the past dance upon her wall
The grief the pain the sorrow I know shes felt it all
Her life it had been shattered like a broken window pane
Tears have stained her lovely face yet her beauty has remained
Through the years the candle burned in the window every night
Im here to blow the candle out and take you home tonight
Mama can you see me mama please dont cry
God is waiting for us in his mansion in the sky
