I was told you would be the best option for my lonely heart.
You were happpier then happy but i was still lonely
lets be friends were the words that was used but you said lets not
no one speaks now no one moves
will you come back or shall i be leaving?
friendship lost to undesired love.we should've been just friends
i took a big leep because i loved you my dear friend
but when i took that leep i missed the pond.
now on the lost side, cold lonely and back to where i started
those who choose you for me now say I told ya so
so love isn't always as lovely as it sounds
it hurts when you let the darkened truth shine through.

BRAVO! Your poem was lovely and so true!
Which to you, should prove.........this person is not capable of love.......or they wouldn't treat you so distant! They would have understood that friendship can be just as loving as can be!

I like to recall (in my mind's eye) what the famous President George Washington once said: "Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company."
What a thought provoking muse. It would often seem as if we must ‘need to research prospective friends.’ Even then only time, and proven trust, will prove such test as a wise choice of companionship. Not only that, we are also judged by the company we keep.
