When you hold something so precious So precious in your hands And its innocence and beauty Falls away like grains of sand
When this precious gift is taken And turned in to something new Its hard to comprehend When its lost what once you knew
When you have done all that is possible To keep it safe from harm And the trust you have in others Are the ones that cause alarm
The innocence is gone It will never be the same And the precious gift you held Is not the one to blame
How can you ever trust anyone To help and understand The precious gift will never return But you still hold it in your hand
