Wasted years, and wasted time
All the tears aren't worth a dime
Sit alone in a crowded room
Your company is sadness and gloom
Hopes can build, dreams can die
The scars are visible in your eyes
But through wounded eyes, dreams can be born
And the scars are like medals, they can be worn
With dignity and honor, and wisdom beyond years
The wars of long ago are etched inside your tears
