i KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVETH

Contributed by Elizabeth_Dandy on Monday, 17th April 2006 @ 12:37:03 AM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

Praise ye the Lord, for He is good! -
He died for us upon the rood
Rejected, scorned, in bitter grief,
Avowed by but a dying thief.
He covers with his precious blood
Shed on that awesome, gruesome rood,
And by His death has hell subdued.
Thank ye the Lord! - His mother stood
With broken heart beneath the rood;
She saw her son, and felt the dart,
The cruel spear go through her heart.

Praise Ye the Lord, for He is good!
He made the raging waters mute.
On outcasts His kind face would shine;
He changed the water into wine.
He hears His children's anguished cries,
And hungry hearts He satisfies.
He stills the thirst of stag and hart;
Restores to beauty what was marred.
The Lord is wakeful, He espies
The tears, the sobs, the secret sighs.
Benignity glows on His brow
For pilgrim children here below.

Praise ye the Lord! for He is good!
He gives Himself as our food.
He knew the scourge, the lash, the knout,
And agonized upon the rood.
And by His death He sanctified
All gibbets and disgrace's freight.
He floods with light where gloom and doom,
He will reverse opprobrium.
He'll render what is bitter - sweet
And never break off the bent reed.

Praise ye the Lord, for He is good,
He renders real what is moot,
And teaches boldly to defy
Asthemia and how well to die.
As the Good Shepherd He will fetch
From squalid haunts the lowliest wretch;
His hand will shatter, crush and smash
The urn or plot that holds my ash,
And scatter gravel dirt and stone
To reassemble flesh and bone.
So I may see in lasting youth
The Light, The Way, the Life, the Truth.
Though heavily weigh aches and grieves
I know that my Redeemer lives!

Praise ye the Lord! - for He is good;
He sends the Spirit forth to brood;
He is the First, He is the Last!
In Him is present, Future, Past.
Sing to the Lord! - for He is good!
Praise Him with timbal, harp and lute!
Praise Him - give Praise,- Alleluia!
To Alpha and to Omega.

I know that my Redeemer liveth

Elizabeth, you do have a way with words! What a beautiful way to recount the Easter story and the grace we have received from He who killed death!

He has done so many things for us. He is waiting for all of His children to get in that right position so we can receive many more of His blessings. God does not want to take things from us, He wants to give things to us. When we put Him first, He puts us first. I stand on His land, carrying my own cross, as He loves me each day. I want to share so many things about how He has taken care of me. I have learned to look at sinning as a different approach to understanding myself as a sinner.

It is not what I have done wrong, that is wrong, it is what I do, that is more than enough for Him. He sees my heart, not my past.

I love Him so. God is # 1

Bless you my dear friend, In Jesus Christs name for this most lovely poem for Him. There is nothing to prove, He just is. He is alive, He is alive.
