Sea of madness

Lost inside myself, my thoughts drift all the time
A love that was lost, my heart commits the crime
As I walk along the beach, the night engulfs my screams
My pain laid on the ocean, as I discard shattered dreams
I share my loneliness with the ocean, the wind howls at my cries
My mind races to the image of the final goodbyes
What went wrong? Why did love have to end?
I fight back emotion, as I force close the door
...that you opened
My heart will heal, and when it does, I'll be a better man
Next time around, I'll know from the past
What's right and what's wrong, in making love last
The lessons I've learned, it's worth is in gold
Feelings grow stronger, they can't be bought or sold
But what's most important, in all of this
Is that I still survived, love's death kiss
One day I will be able, to return here and know
That the wounds are gone, love's no longer my foe
The waves of pain, can try to break my will
The wind of psychological war, can move in for the kill
But no matter what you do, I'm not going to drown
In your sea of madness...
I may fall, but not stay down
