The Scars on his Hands
Fingers weaving together (L a c i n g with grace)
Tears falling to leather (L a c e d with disgrace)
Lines charming and clever (Just such a w a s t e)
Knowing it's now or never (S t r e a k e d with his haste)
The scars on his hands tell stories (Of violence and fists and fights)
The scars on his wrists tell no lies (Just s i l e n c e and trysts and lonely nights)
The tears on his face tell memories (Of silence and trysts and fights)
The look in his eyes tells no lies (Just violence and fists and l o n e l y n i g h t s)
The scars on his hands will tell you what words cannot--

First let me say WOW! A very well written piece. Your words paint a portrait and I can see nothing more fittingly poetic than the idea of seeing through words. An excellent job, indeed!
While you did not go into a whole lot of detail. I believe, from the mood and my own personal visual of the man that he is a victim of his own violence. Yes he is a protector but it is in these acts where we see he can go too far. I think he may even inflict the occassional act of violence on someone undeserving of his wrath (atleast in most cases). Either way I think the man has a loving and protecting spirit, but is very violent and lost in his own actions.
That is my opinion at least. Just as my opinion on your write is EXCELLENT!
