The Path of Eternal Truth (1)

Contributed by venkat on Monday, 3rd February 2003 @ 09:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Mother is the source and support of the Universe
And she is the creator, the created and the creation
Says Rig-Veda, Yajur-Veda and many a Sacred Text
O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!

Without a mother there is no Universe
Without a master there is no realization
From age to age this is the flow of knowledge
O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!

Tie that monkey of the mind to a strong pillar
It wrestles for a while, and then hears the truth
After that it moves on the path of salivation
O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!

Om is the eternal sound which is the Absolute
It has neither gender nor number and, in its womb
Exist the fourteen worlds, all seen and unseen.
O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!

Being united with the power, the Lord is powerful
In the absence of power, the Lord is powerless
Thus spoke the renowned saint SankaraCharya.
O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!

By worshiping Kali and learning the art of poetry
Kalidasa became the greatest poet of the world
And none so far excelled him in the art of writing
O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!

Blessed are eyes which see the divine form of Kali
Blessed are the ears, which hear the praises of Kali
Blessed is the tongue that praises the glory of Kali
O Mother Kali! O my swan! Tell me the truth!

I am still "the monkey struggling"

Thank you for a very thought provoking poem,
no , it is more than a poem. A prayer? A map? A compass to find my way?

Still struggling.
