Star-Goat.
'When I kissed her" words of a forgotten song kept cropping up. When I embraced and kissed her she became thinner and thinner, till I was left hugging her flimsy, pink see-through nightdress, the one she used to put on, for me to take off Friday nights. The intense silence in my bedroom was broken by a scream that shattered windows and rocked a statue of cupid, in the city park, off its pedestal and leaves on evergreens paled. But when the child, banished to the darkest, coldest recesses of my, mind began sobbing I opened my heart and sang him a lullaby

Dear Jan, Beautiful and sad experience! You have expressed it well. I was touched by the part where you speak of singing a lullaby to the 'child.' Bizzy |
