Empty bottles stand tall Taller than you can ever comprehend Shimmering in the moonlight As though taunting you as you lie in the wake of this personal disaster. Ash spills from your hand Charring the remnants of forgotten innocence Leaving you tainted beneath the darkened sky. All light grows dim The sky opens up Drenches you with promises Then steals them away with the first glimpse of the sun
