THE DECIET by michael koopmans
The face I put on, it's a fake, As I think of my life, I start to shake, I always seem to get the worst of it, it's not fair, She says I should get out more, I'd rather stay in my lair,
I should lay my face bare, so they know, But my life doesn't need, that kind of show I hate this, I need a helping hand, Im drowning, I need to swim to land,
Im losing it all, what sanity I retain, It's overtaking, hard to contain, I look at the mirror, its depressed, I think to myself, I just want to confess.
The flux and flow, wax and wane, I feel like I, bring the world to shame, I was the one, who was taken, I came back cold, livid and shaken.
I'm closed up, hidden from the world, They showed up, I had yet to be unfurled, I was not ready, I was marred, So forever I shall remain, the hidden card.

Great poem. Sounds like a conflict that you have with yourself. Kind of like, to sides to a situation. You should change, but you don't want to, maybe. Or I could be completely wrong. Anyways, I like it. Good job. |
