Look at me

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Look at me,
What have I become?
Lost inside myself,
Lost in this world of pain,
What have I done?
Why so lonely,
Why so gone?
Look at me,
Detached from the world,
Smiling at the light of anothers face,
Crying my soul away.
Look at me,
Where do I go from here,
Why do I shed these tears,
What the hell has gone wrong?
Where do I go from here,
What is my destiny?
Why do I feel so damn empty,
Look at me,
How can I end this suffering,
Why cant anyone see something is killing me?
I'm built up to be strong,
The rock for everyone to count on,
But i'm about to break,
Is this my chosen fate?
Look at me,
Why cant I speak,
Why do I feel so damn week,
Look at me,
Just look at me,
Someone please,
Tell me what you see.

looks like you are trying to find yourself.
that was a good write. i totally felt how you feel if that makes any sense.

but hey. i just read the most amazing book ever. and its about this girl and through out it she learns so much. and she ..well...finds herself.

i even wrote down quotes from this book. like it is really good. but yeah so im going to share them with you cuz i think they will ...make you think...haha. so please read them all!!

- You know how sometimes you’re having a nightmare that’s so real you actually feel the brick grate against your skin as you fall from the edge to pavement? You open your mouth to scream, lungs heaving against the thin barrier of skin that separates you from that treacherous world and the waking one, but nothing comes out; you try to run but the sidewalk quicksands, suctioning you heel first. And then- you jolt awake. Reality settles upon you like a comforter and you breathe a sigh of relief as it dawns on you that it was all just a bad dream.

- You can’t let fear stop you. You have to let it move you and move beyond it. Sometimes the most natural things, the things that don’t seem risky, are the most supernatural; they sneak up on you. You keep taking pictures and one day you might see something that surprises you.

- Destiny- I think it’s all there, if that’s what you men. But that doesn’t mean you can’t revise, rewrite, and bring the bass up. You’ve got to believe in both – fate works best in retrospect right? Give it your best shot and only then what is meant to be will be. – You’ve got to believe that or why get out of bed in the morning?

- And then I understood how mundane things could be sacred. People were embodied in everything they wore or touched; traces were everywhere, clues to entire lives. And shoes- well, they held the person up, and even empty insinuated the whole.

- What if you still all the voices and stares, all the things you think you’re supposed to think or you think everyone else is thinking, and go to somewhere in yourself like when you are underwater, for example, or in an asana, that truly conscious silence- and you look at you?

- You have to realize, there is no such thing as this tidy little box you think you have to fold up and fit into; it simply does not exist.

- And you have to realize that you don’t need that box. That there is something that connects it all, even in wide and open and uncontained space. The way a constellation makes a shape.

- You must be honest. You must take authority for you feelings. There is nothing to lose. There is nothing to be ashamed of. This is how you feel, and if you tell it like it is at the very least it is true. And if it changes later? At least it was true. But now you must express yourself so that everyone is playing with a full deck of cards.

- Focus on your strength. Use it. You know what you want to do. Now do it. Acts of love will lead you to more love. Turn your pain and confusion into beauty and power.

- That’s how you make your life magical – you take yourself into your own hands and rub a little. You activate you identity. And that’s the only way to make, as they say, the world a better place; after all, what good are you to anyone without yourself?

-I have pulled an easily applicable day-to-day rule from it that always gets me out of a jam: You must live every moment of your life in such a way that if you had to live it over and over again till infinity, this would be a good thing.

- I realized now how much these images summed up so much of the summer to me. The sadness and beauty of this metropolis of lost and found souls. The making and breaking of identity- what was in your hands and what was in your hands and what was not. A stranger becoming familiar despite her strangeness, because of it, over a hot cup of coffee and a night touched by the season’s first chill. Lips flowering to a flame. Wings sprouting from a sewer; starbursts from skidmarks- they way there as no such thing as a false star: You could wish on anything as long as you meant it.

- Suddenly the Miss America wish for world peace seemed brilliant. Maybe if enough people made that wish we could do huge things, makes things happen just from out thoughts and good intentions and all be shiny happy people. And this much was clear now: It was no passive homogenous creature, identity, but rather diversity, a thrashing, grinding, and all-out dirty dancing together. It moved and it grooved and it might even sleep with you before marriage. You were the dancer and the dance, and you could shape yourself though a riff, or a shrug, or an on-the-back spin, adapt to new rhythms without losing a sense of harmony with yourself. And harmony, that was no static thing either, but many different parts coming together to sing the same song.

- And the beat, well. The beat you had to follow was your own heart.

-Everyone has a story. Everyone is making a story, all the time. And this is only the beginning of yours.

Nice write. I can kind of understand what's going on. Best wishes, I hope everything turns out okay and all is not lost. Message me if you ever want to talk.

"tell me what you see"...

i see me.

i see everyone else in this world that goes through this stage

i once was strong. i once was the good girl all the promised i made to myself were broken. i became lost and i became weak. everything i intended NOT to be. and when you've let yourself down you are gone....

but you can regain your strength. just try before its too late...

you can do it. just set aside all your "failures" all your problems and all your pain. just dont even think about it!

its all about mind control. if you think you dont have control...your wrong. you can change everything. just as much control you have to be able to kill yourself, you can save yourself.

i wish you the best of luck. and i read all your poems and they are amazing.

and though i do not know you. i love you.

xoxo
