Bomb Threat

The voice drones on, Sounding so distant. A warped setting. Every move dramatically slow. Heavy breaths, Sticky bodies. Taking in slow, full gulps of air, Not knowing which will be the last. Glancing from face to solemn face of Friends, enemies, lovers and haters. It doesn't matter now, We're all in this together. The lesson continues. Teachers feel they failed, Where did it go so wrong? Knowing no ones listening, She carries on As if just another day. Every tap, every footstep, The class readcts. Sincere glances between close friends And apologetic looks between enemies. Mental reviews of better times. A lip quivers, A tear falls, And the seconds tick away.

Awesome write! The tension and intensity is real. Reminds us that all the trivial pursuits of life fall away in importrance when facing a life threatening situation.
