To live in a world without pain and misery
To live without suffering and death
To live without the monotonous toils of the day
That is serenity
To live in a world made only of happiness
To enjoy the day as it comes
Watching the sun slowly rise into the sky
And watch it melt into the horizon
That is serenity
To feel the cool forgiving rain on your face
And the pleasant breeze tickling your skin
To feel safe and secure inside
That is serenity
Life can treat us horribly
And can deal us the worst hand
But as long as we can realize and feel the simple things
A gentle, tender kiss under the stars or maybe by the fire
Running through sprinklers on a hot summer day
Lying on the warm grass watching the clouds pass by
Then even here, even in this life
We can live in serenity
