Selfish Touch

Contributed by Julie on Thursday, 6th February 2003 @ 10:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I can smell you on my skin
The skin that touches yours in moments of lust
And I feel guilty
Smelling the sin that settles so comfortably on my own

I think I could do better
And not lower myself in salacious ways
Yet there is a distinct longing that pulls me to you
I don't want to fall hopelessly in your abyss of passions
Expressing myself in games of intimacy

You don't know who I am
Do you?
Only what I feel like, smell like, and taste like
These are your only means to discover who I am
Yet you have no idea the emotions I possess
The intelligence behind each touch, each kiss
How I routinely avoid conversation

Do we fear one another?
Not knowing the others true purpose
I could say I love you
But it would be a lie
I love your physical presence
The one I have memorized
Each curve, each texture, every inch of bone and muscle
Only our touch speaks, not our mouths
Could this be healthy, a love base on physical influence
Or no love at all
Just pure pleasure

Great poem ... I really love this. Is it possible to be so in lust with someone without loving them? For me it all becomes a blur and one becomes the other. But I know just what you mean ... love the way you wrote this.
