(This is called an acorn heartstring pendant)
How do you say goodbye, when youve just said hello? You plant a new seed and hope it will grow You hold to the soil but find it is bare So you scoop up that seed and take it elsewhere.
If love is a forest, plant me the trees If hope is a windfall than call up the breeze If desire is my compass keep me on track If chance favours fools, then I take it all back
Dreams are perennial, but fragile as glass I walk through my memories like fields of grass I lay down with lovers, adventures and pain I doze in the cuttings of an old mans domain
If despair is a river, I drown every day I pray for a god to just take it away To give me a reason, or leave me in sleep If tears are griefs children then no wonder we weep
How do you say hello, after so many goodbyes? Ive had too many answers to ask anymore whys I only seek refuge in the eye of loves storm A beauty enamoured to a poet newborn.
If time is an arrow, no wonder it flies If love is a mystery, I hope that Im wise Youth and girls leave you when you least expect Hold moments and lovers with equal respect.
Endnote: I came up with the title early, then found the acorn and heartstring references later. Acorns are symbols of opportunity and potential. Heartstrings represent your deepest feelings of love and compassion. Go figure the Muse.

I've fallen for this.
Honestly though... I don't think I had any sort of chance not to. I can't imagine a poet that wouldn't.
Nodding and sighing all at the same time,

Impossible truth and sentiment S. [hardly able to believe what
I've read].
With each stanza I felt a stirring of the heart, [in the worst way]
and a cemented belief shining through. I see the words bolded
running amuk throught the minds of your readers upon
finishing this piece and going back for a second and third read!!
Wisdom in your words, (always, dear Spike).
Beautiful.

(snemmy was right! I ADORE this one. Truly. And feel it immensely!) |

I'm not surprised that you have so many comments on this poem. It's very nicely done and definately one of the best I've read. The second and last stanzas are especailly exquisite. Good job, love, Keep it up.
