My Treasure Chest
I packed away a lifetime of memories
into a treasure chest
The good, the bad, the indifferent
and the beautiful ones, I remember best
When you look back over the years
and the fond memories that you had
You always try to remember
the good ones, not the bad
As time slowly passes by
you try to enjoy your life
Building a new relationship
and perhaps, another husband or wife
When a new treasure chest is in the making
with something added every day
A budding romance, with your treasure
in every possible way
How nice to have been able to find a partner
to cherish in the days ahead
To move on down life's highway, coming along
once again, and not feeling like you are dead
So treasure every minute
of this new life you have found
The music you are now hearing
is such a perfect sound
