*~Under The Facade of The Sith Lord~*

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Like a Dark Sith Lord, he is spotted during the midnight hours
A tall, dark, and sinister figure looming out of the darkness in a choking cloud of mist
With a long black robe draped over his head you can see his eyes, red and piercing like a knife
As he makes his way ever closer to you, you start to panic
Should you run?
Should you scream?
Should you do anything at all?

However, I tell you this
Dont you dare run!
Dont you dare scream!
Just wait!
Because under the facade of the Sith Lord
Is quite a vibrant and intriguing man!

He can sense the fear in your eyes, like a hunter stalking his prey, but the hesitation in your voice is a dead giveaway
He raises his arms, ever so slowly, over his head, grasps the hood, and lets it fall to his shoulders
With a devilish smirk on his face, almost as if to tease you, he unbuttons the robes, and you watch it as it carelessly falls to the ground
Your jaw drops in shock and awe of the handsome man that stands before you
An exotic bliss

How can this be
I dont understand
Why didnt I see this before
It was all under the facade of the Sith Lord

He offers you his arm, fist clenched, not in rage, but in pure respect for the person holding onto it
He leads you to a nearby park bench, where you ask him a simple question
Are you for real?
He is more than real
Under the facade of the Sith Lord

As you sit there on that cold bench, he asks you of your travels, and regales you of troublesome times, and not so happy endings
You, for one, can understand his trials, for you, yourself have been there numerous times before
You tell him of your life, the good and the bad, and ask him why he chose to talk to you
Your heart begins to beat faster

He fidgets in his pocket, as if it were a carpetbag with a neverending pouch
Slowly his hand slips from his pocket, almost lifelessly
He hands you a crumpled piece of notebook paper, worn and tattered at the edges
Your heart leaps into your throat

With delicate care you un-wad the note, ever so slowly as not to tear it
Once it is completely open this is what you see

"Friends are like angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly!"
I hope you know that i will always be there for you...thru the good and the bad! I love ya Josh! xoxoxox
Love,
The Lady In Red

You are speechless, in utter awe of the fact he kept this little note you had left him
What can you say
What can you say

You reach for him
You want to wrap your arms ever so tightly around him
But as you look in his direction
He is gone

You think you see him in the corner of your eye
You turn quickly to ask him to stop
But he is not there
But is he really gone

Yet the paper remains
Of a man whom you care deeply for
All Under the Facade of the Sith Lord

You go home that nite, oblivious, and stunned
Why had he left you like that
Why oh why

Your phone rings later on that night, but you are unaware, lost in a dreamworld
A mans voice, deep and dark is heard on the other end

A dear friend once told me that a friend is like an angel, who lifts us to our feet, when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. Thank you Amy for the wings to fly so high!

And what a friendship abounded from this call
Never once have these two met
Yet in some instances, they are as close as one can be
Under the facade of the Sith Lord.

*For My Dark Sith Lord Josh*

The first thing that attracted me to this poem was its title. (I'm a big Star Wars freak)
I love the message you gave here, djdarkrose04!
It tells me that in every Sith Lord, there's a nicer guy underneath just waiting to break free...

Good job on this! Keep it up!

P.S. If you go to my website listed on my profile page of YPDC, click the link to my Star Wars site. (That is, if you're interested...)
