WHY CAN'T I FORGET

Contributed by MarLites on Saturday, 27th May 2006 @ 09:30:47 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

WHY CANT I FORGET

The pounding of my heart beats
The long hours and days

Wasted

On empty wishes
Of our being together

My mind races
With thoughts of you

Like the constant harsh waterfall
Off a steep cliff

Each thought etching
Deeper and deeper
Into the valleys of my soul

Buried

Are the thoughts of reality
That I should release you

But still one tear-drop falls
And I see

The sparkle of your smile
Reflected in the pool of sadness

So it continues

Another cycle
The pounding of my heart

I think the hardest thing in life is to get over someone. i really like the way you expressed how you felt.i just posted something like this about 5 minutes ago and if you get a chance read it it is called" love sick fool" or another one that i wrote that might help you is "if we can share no love is it worth the sun to come?"
thanks for that great write!

They do say we never forget our loves. We always have a special place for them stored in our hearts. Your words tell of your emotions and feelings so well. Sue xx

I can relate to this so much.
But in my case...
It's not the question of...
"Why I can't forget"
rather, "Why I won't forget"

Great poem! I love it.
Thanks for inspiring me, Mary.
