Point of no return

Contributed by Davinah on Thursday, 1st June 2006 @ 01:01:21 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Who is going to walk beside me
Now that you have been taken away.
Only with you I could share this dark fate
With you is where I wanted to stay.

I refuse,
to accept this burden of sorrow and grief.
Still in a state of denial.
Holding on to disbelief.

I have been done wrong so many times before
that the hurt no longer stings.
But I cannot cope with the loss of you
and the emptiness it brings.

Spending my time alone
Trapped in illogical pondering
Trapped in a life so cruel
If only I could escape
But I am trapped inside this hell
with vivid memories of you.

For all those times,
we shared our hopes and dreams.
We never expected our parting,
to be so very near.

Each time we survived another wave of terror,
we would renew our sacred bond,
and swear it was to last forever.
With all my trust, hope, fears and pain,
Still bound to your spirit I remain.

My mourning knows no ending
Each mile I walk
You walk together with me in thought
No longer by my side
But buried deep within you lie.

The picture of you is carved into my eyes
And I know that the memories of you will linger on
As I just cannot accept the painful truth that you are gone.

Hey thanks for the comment. I like the overall "feel" of this poem. Just what I think about when I read it. Very nice.

oh Davinah this is a very sad poem indeed!
I can remember when my husband died many years ago. I'm not sure this is what happened to you, but the loss is the same anyway. We all read another's poem with different feelings and some we can relate to, this one is very dear to my heart, I can feel your loneliness and sorrow, for I've felt those emotions too. I hope things are better now, and you've moved on.
Very touching with words, and your readers can feel your pain, which is great ,for a poet should make his readers feel his sadness, gladness, indifference and everything inbetween.
Warm love
consue

So sad and filled with echos of yesterdays emotions. Perhaps in time love will ease your hearts pain. Smiles to you. Lovely writting.
