A LONGING

A LONGING

It seems in all the years I've lived.....
there has always been a longing
deep inside of me.
A wishing, a yearning, a dreaming,
a heart thirsty.

Looking back without regret, or repining
perhaps nostalgia
A heartsickness, melancholia wish for
the betterment in my sagas.

A yearning to seek earnestly, a desire
for beauty and good.
Happy endings if you would?

A fellow feeling for those hurt,
a benevolence,
Tenderness of heart for them,
a loving temperance.

A hunger never quite satisfied
Relief, easement, softening, soothing
comfort compiled.

Craving for long life to repair
the bad into good.
If only I could.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them
as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day;
you shall begin it serenely and with too
high a spirit to be encumbered with
your old nonsense."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
Thanking dear Patti
Pungent lines these dear Conue on a predicament that we - without exception have to deal with.
But Emerson is so right, - absolutely - Hanker not after the past, but use instead each present moment.
Let us ferv ently heed his words.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful posting
Warm love
lizabeth
