My Rocky Road

Topic: DarkPoetry

I walk along this rocky road,
Not knowing where it will lead me to..

Ive lived my life in solitude,
Never knowing if my love was true..

The light grew bright throughout the day,
My sanity was tested and I knew..

Hallucinations filled my mind,
As Demons from my past would walk on by..

Finally I saw you too,
But you just kept walking, no matter how hard I tried.

I took my one last look at you, knowing that would be my last goodbye.
Then as if to reply, you slowly turned around.
When you came close to me, you slowly faded out,
became a ghost to me..

Far along this rocky road, I saw all those who I have ever cared about.
I knelt down on that spot, my inside was ready to explode,
All the pain inside of me, from every wrong that I have done.

The sun went down, as I fell.
I lay there on that Rocky road, not knowing what had become of me.
I once cared less about these things, why was it that I now felt remorse?

I died there on that Rocky road, my demons finally caught up with me.
I thought I could hide through life, living underneath my great faade.
One by one they said good-bye, as I slowly let them go
Finally the last was you, knowing it would be the hardest thing to do.

There I stood at heavens gates, knowing that Id never see you again.
