Well I am not what I told you, not defeaning and definitely not unfolding. I am not full of fire, nor a ring of fire, not perfect, not benign. I am not the scented rose bloom and Ill not cast another shadow in your room.
I am not the prize-winner you seek, Im no Marilyn on Easy Street. Youll not see blond curls like this, not hear a voice in perfect pitch. never wonder why I slumber and never be numbered.
I am just not what I told you, not what youre used to and not amusing. I am a list of negatives, engulfed no matter what day it is. I wont talk you to death or bar the door, I am not unlike my mother before.
What I am not is so many things not content with not reaching my dreams not a follower, not a leader and mostly not what I agreed to Im listless and unsatisfied Ill not allow my soul to be squandered by another unknown unheard lullaby
I am not what I told you, not defeaning and definitely not unfolding. I am not full of fire, nor a ring of fire, not perfect, not benign. I am not the scented rose bloom and Ill not cast another shadow in your room.

An hypnotic monologue - we are certainly a mass of contradictions and wrong turns, never what others think we are and only a glimpse of what we can be.

And yet seeing what you are not gives a bit of a look at what you are.
Thanks for the glimpse. I like this approach. |
