Tired of the tears I cry
Lying awake at night
Worrying
Wondering
Trying to make sense of things
And as I try to see it all
And to understand this pain I feel
I finally get it
This is what life is
Pain
Sorrow
Misery and loneliness
I see now that the faint glimpses of happiness
Those are the illusion
The hurt and pain are whats real
The agony of everyday life
Thats what truly exists
The joy that comes and goes
Is meant to tease the soul
Entice you to believe
That theres more to what youre doing
To make you want to carry on
To see some shard of hope
And think there will be serenity
But the truth of it all
Is the hate prevails
And that theres nothing really worth living for
The disillusion of happiness
Is meant to deceive
To betray your heart to not give in
To the wretched world we are forced to live in
The horrid lies we face each day
The broken promises
The hurt and disregard we are required to go through
Now knowing all of this is true
I find it easier to give in
To give up and struggle on no more
It makes it easier to just quit
I cant face this anymore
Knowing that this is truly all there is
Just this life and no more
Its just not enough
To fuel my will to live

We all have been there once or twice in our lives. I am there now, but I just keep on going, living one day at a time. Life sucks at times man, but it will get better. Keep your head up and keep going.

| What a great write... I so often try to fool myself by believing I don't feel the same way.. It never works. Life can be so full of hardship and pain.. I guess its those few great moments that keep us longing for more. Thanks so much for sharing. |
