Our Life-Their Life

Contributed by flyineagle on Tuesday, 13th June 2006 @ 11:34:16 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Life can be difficult
Life can be hard
You have to push through it
Youve got to pick a card

You have to be able to take it
Take it every single day
You have to make good choices
And always go your own way

Sometimes it gets hard
And sometimes you might go wrong
You have to overcome that
And get up and be strong

If you can be determined
And push it through the end
Then youll make the world go round
Round every single bend

Life is very complicated
In many sorts of ways
You will have many choices
That youll have to make in your day

Your life could be on high
Living with all the riches
Or you could be a poor folk
Living in the ditches

You could live in New York City,
Boston or L. A.
Or you could live in a dumpster
And beg for food every day

Just try to think what its like
For all the ones out there
Who dont have food, water or shelter,
Or even a family there to care

Think of the hundreds of children who just died
In the seconds you are reading this
From malnutrition or starvation
Or drinking someone elses *****

Now dont think Im a freak
Just because it thought for awhile
I just think about it
As I walk a mile

I think of all the things
That could change my life right then
I could hit by a car
And nobodyd ever see me again

Well I guess thats just how Life is
And nobody can help it
And if nobody can help it
Then I mine as well grab my mitt

Ill play ball with friends
It isnt like they care
To them talking to a foreign student
Would be like taking a stupid dare

So to all the ones out there
Who would give their lives to read this
Just know that I do care
But me you will not miss

If I was in my dying days
Would anyone be there
To just be there with me
Hold my hand and care

Only the ones that were the strangers
Would come in for a look
Even though I didnt know them
Id understand what it took

What it took for them to realize they had a chance
To make it through the strife
To be determined for success
In this mystery we call LIFE
