HELL-GLUE JELL.

Contributed by FRANCO on Sunday, 18th June 2006 @ 06:53:52 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

.

I stood a mute dweller of a hectic world
gawking helplessly at the dominion I dwell
at par to a dark endless well; took a misstep,
fell and got stuck in a horror of hell-glue jell.

Darkness of bureaucratic corruption, stinking painful
stings of foul politicians, slashing whips of red-tapes,
suffocating price rise and mal practice, crying under-
nourished children, agonized weeping mother, sure hell I dwell.

In this dark well I witnessed deprived bargain their
love and virginity for a place to dwell and for a belly full,
million trapped in the clenches of the financial monster pledged
their precious soul and conscious for a silly perishable wages.

Deliverance to my humble soul too came with a price tag in the
world I dwell; is there a way to unbound me from the hell-glue jell?

Penetrating accusation of corruption and the total absence of love.

Transcend it, it might take only one to turn the tide around.
Powerful poetry.
Thanks for sharing

I thought the answer was Love. Worldwide brotherly love. But that's what I get for thinking. It is sad when truthful poetry has to be classified as "dark". Well done, Franco.

sticky situations.. so much to say here..encyclopedias. You know, so many feet have fell into that pit.. are stuck there... one thing your poem did make me think of though.. how we have changed words up, to make them look glorified.. war and peace... right to peace...kill for peace...to save someone..lets show violence in order to have peace... abortion.. pro-choice... planned parenthood... oh the list goes on.. I think you know what I mean... all we can do now... down there in that dark sticky well, is to pray to be rescued.. oh yes.. not only hell to pay.... what the heck is death tax.. lol.. estate tax.. well. anyway... I will get into trouble if I continue to talk.. Nice write.. moving piece of work here..

The hell glue jell gets all of us caught. Staying here in our ignorant bliss is what seems to be the choice. Yet there is so much more we could do collectively to defeat despair and compliance. Why don't we do it?We fear change..forgive us we fear change....the comfort and understanding of our own lives keeps us stuck. Thank you for making me remember.
