LAWDY, NOW, LAWDY

Contributed by emystar on Sunday, 18th June 2006 @ 10:10:50 AM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

It's a mess out there in the fast lane.
So much crap will drive us insane.
It's a dog eat dog iratic world.
Evil makes me wonna go hurl.

Lawdy(and for those that don't know it's LORDY), lawdy, oh now, lawdy'
repeat two times.

Give me a hut in middle these woods.
Around here family's hood.
Work till ya lay down to die.
Never, ever have time to cry.

The luv (love) of money root of all evil.
Jus give me a teepee, quite, still.
Aahh take us back to simple time
when neighbors were friends of mine.

Dad grew all our food natural in ground..
Raised all our fresh meat out of town.
Everyone worked together see?
Dad, Mom, eight kids had to eat.

Life is so simple when we identify the artificial and time depriving dictates of "work" for the pure simplicity of nature and natural. Seem t' have caught that in this poem, Emy!
Excellent write!

away over a mountain range inbetween.
Simple life is always best, for simplicity if also beauty

these days everyone seems to be in a rush to go nowhere, not like the times when people were once hurried for a purpose..
my advice is : "work to live" don't "live to work"

Nice work Emy~

Love of money is not the root of all evil, an nor is money itself.

LACK of money is the root of all evil. Ting-A-ling?

Sweet lady Emy~ yo rock girlfriend.
Indeed money is the root to all evil.
People are in such a rush and they
never seem to get far in life. Give me
back the good ole days anytime.
Simple living simple life.
Beautifully composed Emy~ well done

work is a crazy cycle that we repeat but it is required to survive in this word. If only life could be only leasure.

good ole days, never too much time on your hands, great living.. working the ground.. life.. slowed down.. only time we cried was when we could not get those stickers out of our fingers when we picked berries.. only time we could not cry, too busy trying to soak .... used hay out of our socks lol.. I still go down the street and say hello to all.. i make my big city a small one... my circle of friends.. me too emy... a country girl here.. forever... yes go to the woods, live on the land.. if there was not a computer though, I would not be reading your poetry, so glad am in this place all hooked up.. we can no longer make time, we must take time, and take it while we can.. good write, brought me back to those good ole days of hard work, close family, picnics.. radio lol.. hand work... walking a mile to school in the snow lol.. which is the truth.. lol... first tv in the house.. first show I ever watched.. real young.. dennis the menace... had a 6 fluid oz of 7-up (non-alcholic) and a zagnut candybar.. long years ago

Emy, there is so much truth in here. What
a wonderful and poignant piece.

I wish to echo the sentiments of not only your
thought-provoking write, but the comments
of others here as well.

Money is a necessary evil. Just like the government.
But it sure doesn't make you happy. Some have
just lost their way while scurrying around to the
beat of the almighty dollar and forgot what is
truly important.

Excellent post!

So right so true. That's the way I want it. One of these days my kids will too.

Love it.

Emy,

a good piece of soft protest poetry. I grew up in a small town with backyard vegies, a chook run, neighbours that you at least knew to keep away from, if nothing else. We do seem to be constantly reaching for something that is supposed to better approximate our needs and desires, rather than savour whatever we have in our hands, no matter how imperfect that may be.
But I heard that there are man made beehives on buildings in New York City and that the honey is exquisite, so the pendulum keeps swinging.
