THE GREAT ACHIEVER

Contributed by Manda2 on Monday, 19th June 2006 @ 06:19:11 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

SHE told him...
He was beautiful,
His light shone brighter than the rest,
He was a genius,
In a crowd he was simply the best.
He was a great achiever,
No-one could match his flare,
He was capable of anything,
And SHE would always be there.

SHE sometimes looked tired
Years rewarding her with lines
But SHE was happy with her life,
Because he was her special find.

**

SHEE told him he was wasted,
He was withering in her grasp,
He would be better off without her
And her manipulating clasp.
He agreed he deserved better,
He was sure he could achieve more,
If only he could lose her,
And try to remember his life before.

SHEE was aloof towards him,
Though classy in her ways,
But he knew he had the flare,
To persuade her to share her days.
Because...
His light shone brighter than the rest,
In a crowd he was simply the best.
No-one could match his flare,
problem was SHE was always there.

**

It didn't take long to break her heart,
Surely SHE knew the day would come,
He was far too good to stay there,
But there's just no telling some.
SHE should find someone more like her,
Someone who didn't strive in life,
But he was a great achiever,
And she wasn't good enough to be his wife.

Very good poem. Sometimes life will take an unexpected turn for the worse. But sometimes this unexpected turn is for the best. Simply Amazing.

Loved it, personally I would have beaten him for that. Hehe.
Great write, some people do get too big for their boots. and this poem might put them back in their place.
