I wait.
I wait for time to heal the pain,
and I watch each minute tick by,
and minutes become hours then days and years,
and still I sit here and wait,
I wait for the healing that never comes,
a salve to ease my pain.
I wait for time to turn my memories into a distant fog,
and for the weight of my sorrow to be lifted.
I wait.
The passing of time is endless.
My hair touched with grey,
my skin without it's lustre,
and blue eyes fade to grey,
their spark long gone.
Only the sound of the clock breaks the silence,
and still,
I wait.
