Just Friends

It was genuine It was there Unfeigned feelings far beyond lust We both knew this was for real
You, the damsel in distress I, Prince Charming This is the battle I have chosen to fight And this is the hill I will die on
But your fear of commitment And my defeat in the battle Led to the dreaded words: I think we should be just friends
Just friends?! Dog is a mans best friend If I wanted a friend I wouldve bought me a dog Maybe a fluffy poodle
So just friends it is But I thought friends would call in times of need And laugh together And play ball
You know what I might just name my dog Lindie one day
