The day my Life begins

I woke up this morning
And knew that today
Was not a day to mourn
but a time to be gay
I got dressed in my cap and my gown
I put on my shoes
no one can bring me down
I got in my car and started to drive
Today family and friends will see me strive
I will not cry but tears of joy
for today day is not a day to annoy
I revieve my diploma with a smile so wide
Then I gladly step far aside
My smile still growing from ear to ear
now my future is growing nearer
I make my way down this long path
and see future shinning bright in the sun
As my family and friends start to laugh
I know today is for everyone
I walk out of this school
and into my new life
noone can call me a fool
because now i walk with pride
So today was not just any day
I didnt recieve just any paper
it was a paper declaring me free
and saying that i have come to succeed
And now everyone is happy to grin
on the day my life begins
