In Case You Have Not Noticed

Contributed by Cancer on Sunday, 9th February 2003 @ 12:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

in case you have not noticed
i died four days ago
they buried me yesterday
amidst the cold, uncaring snow
i know it doesn't matter much
it's not much of a blow
i'm only telling you that i have died
cuz you probably didn't know
for though we slept in the same bed
we were a million miles apart
and the silence that went on so long
simply broke my heart
they said my death was a suicide
a bullet to the brain
truth is, your indifference killed me
my heart couldn't bear the pain
i couldn't stand to watch you
drifting further away
and i knew that there was no hope
in convincing you to stay
i knew about the other man
who slowly took my place
i didn't care, as long as someone
could put that smile back on your face
i let him have you, while i was at work
though it tore me apart inside
in case you never noticed
i was dead long before i died
i guess i'll let you go now
i know your busy with your man-whore
i just wanted to let you know
i won't be in your way anymore
but, if now and then, you get the chance
please remember me
the one who always loved you
the one who died to set you free

in case you have not noticed
this love died long ago
but, i'll take whatever's left with me
into the cold, uncaring snow

Very good write. You should put emotion in more often. This is the first of your writes that I read, very moved.

Wow, Roy that last line sent shivers up my spine. I enjoyed this immensely. This was so sad. This was all amazing. Keep on writing.

Your friend,
Joel

Emotion doesn't just come in the form of happiness or sadness, anger or pleasure. Whether or not you think you put emotion into it, the context of the poem explains how you feel. This poem is written well. Good job.

i hope who ever you wrote this poem for
you made them read it
your poem tore my heart up
and made me just want to say sorry
and give you a hug
well done
when you put your true emotions into your poetry
thats when they make those who read them
so glad that you did
