i have looked over my shoulder
and around corners
but i could never find you
since the day you stole your scent
off my skin
i have practiced and recited for that one instant i may encounter you once again
as if i am preparing myself for an audition
to save my heart
and life goes on
but love will never be as tasteful
as that one moment when your breath was mine
