Falling Missals

Contributed by Wesley_Dale_Willis on Sunday, 9th February 2003 @ 04:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Missals falling from heaven,
Invisible hands reaching,
Reaching out to catch the bombs,
There still falling and falling,
Slipping through fingers.
Falling!
Falling!
Falling!
Falling!
Boom! Boom!
Falling!
Falling!
Falling!
Down,CRASH! BOOM!
Crashing,exploding taking lives,
"Please stop them from coming"
An explosion "we're all dead now",
"I see no more missals falling",
From heaven.
Falling!
Falling! Gone! Gone!
All gone now!

You don't here the one that hits you
The first of the stick shrieked down into Rake Lane,
the second up by the library
We didnt hear the third
the house was shaken to birs
it missed us by twenty yards.

The old lady and gentleman
who lived over the corner shop
were on our roof
but we didnt recognie them as bodies
until the afternoon

They came again the next night
600 bombers they said
incendiaries this time
we were dashing about with sandbags
It was the ones that penetrated the roof and started fires in the lofts
that were the bastards

They came the next night and the next
empty desks at school
that was September
then we had a rest
other cities got it.
'till march
when they hit Mesryside again..............

You can' make poetry out of it

Laterr when I was in the RAF it was the doodle-bugs (pilotless) but at least you could here them comming.....
and shoot some down
then the V2's...sometimes just a vapour trail
then WHAM

Now they come strapped round peoples waists
In hi-jacked planes
buses, lorries.......

There is no appeal

There is no one to appeal too

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
